Queensland has some of the most resilient, hard-working communities in the country. But resilience shouldn't mean putting up with long hospital waiting lists or cover that doesn't actually fit your life.
The truth is that a lot of Queenslanders feel unsure about their hospital cover. Some are paying for services they'll never use - and right now, in a cost-of-living crisis, that's money that matters. And as life changes – babies, a new decade, new priorities, it's easy to find yourself over-insured or under-insured without even noticing.
So, we took a step back and asked a simple question: what would hospital cover look like if it matched where you are in life right now?
The answer: Queensland Country Health Fund's two new hospital products.
- Core Hospital (Basic+) gives you solid, reliable cover across the most needed services.
- Signature Hospital (Silver+) steps it up with comprehensive protection - minus the expensive services that may not be relevant to everyone at this stage.
Core Hospital: straightforward cover when you need it most
Whether you've got young kids, you're flying solo, or you're simply done relying on the public system - hospital cover should be reliable, affordable, and easy to understand.
While Core is categorised as Basic+, it is designed to meet the needs of members seeking cover for commonly used services. It covers a broad range of commonly used hospital treatments - including tonsils, adenoids and grommets, hernia and appendix, gynaecology, male reproductive system, and dental surgery; giving you peace of mind if something unexpected happens.
Practical, no-fuss cover built to support the life you're living, without stretching budgets any further than they need to go.
Signature Hospital: cover that reflects your priorities
As life changes, so do your health priorities. For many people in their 40s and 50s, the young family years are behind them, but things like heart health, sleep and staying on top of your wellbeing start to matter more.
Signature Hospital is Silver+ cover designed for this stage. It goes well beyond entry-level, without the price tag of full top-tier cover.
Signature doesn't include pregnancy, cataracts, joint replacements or dialysis. That's not an oversight, it's intentional. By focusing on what's genuinely relevant right now, Signature sits in a sweet spot - more protection and cover, without paying for gold-level services you're not ready for yet.
The result is cover that feels balanced and considered. You're protected where it counts, with room to move up as your needs change.
Cover designed around life, not labels
Core (Basic+ and Signature (Silver+) weren’t created to fill standard policy tiers. They were built by listening. By looking at how the people in our communities needs change over time and designing cover to suit those realities.
